The combination form of the process should be determined based on heat exchange and fluid resistance calculation, and meet the requirements of the process conditions. Try to ensure that the convective heat transfer coefficients in the cold and hot water flow channels are equal or close, in order to achieve the best heat transfer effect. Because the Heat transfer coefficient gets a larger value when the convection heat transfer coefficients on both sides of the heat transfer surface are equal or close. Although the flow velocity between the plates of a plate heat exchanger varies, the calculation of heat transfer and fluid resistance is still based on the average flow velocity. Due to the fact that the connecting pipes of the "U" shaped single process are fixed on the compression plate, disassembly and assembly are convenient.

Pressure drop verification

In the design and selection of plate heat exchangers, there are generally certain requirements for pressure drop, so it should be checked. If the verified pressure drop exceeds the allowable pressure drop, the design and selection calculation need to be redone until the process requirements are met.
